I don't know why computer manufacturers are so embarrassed about their ports and connectors that they hide them in the back where the user has a hard time accessing them. When set in front of my Mac on the bottom right (I have my iMac set in a hole in my desk so that the bottom of the screen (computer) just grazes the top of my desk and the hub just nestles against the lower right hand corner of my Mac) it really makes the USB ports readily accessible. This is a great hub for extending the limited amount of USB ports on my iMac (four), with this I now have 7 ports and it matches my iMac as if it was made for it.
